JD

 When Rocky and JD first met in Daytona during Bike Week 1986, they had no idea what great things lay ahead of them. A year later, almost to the day, they were standing out behind the Pub 44, in front of Rockys bike, exchanging vows and comitting to a life of honesty, integrity and love.

Rocky is from Upstate N.Y. ( Gloversville) and JD's from a little further North in Canada (Ottawa). Their new digs in Florida gave all their Northern friends a nice warm place to come visit instead of having to shovel snow all winter.   Rocky owned a Tavern in Gloversville at the time ( To this day, still called Rocky's Tavern) and they often thought that having a bar in Florida would be great. 

The birth of their son, Coty in 1989, slowed that process down a little, but they never stopped thinking that some day they would.  They looked into a lot of things over the years, but nothing seemed right, so they just had parties in their backyard.  That grew over the years, with word getting out, it seemed people came from everywhere. And once JD got a computer and signed on-line, the possibilities were endless. From a chat room called the Harleybar, she met she met folks, riders and friends from around the world, and a whole new era of "Cyber Party" was born.

Before you could say " Buttery Nipple", the yard was filled with revelers, from on-line and off, stompin and dancing to theRock & Roll music. With constant PR from many friends, even more word got out about the annual parties. Within a year, the multitude of people who travelled from all over the nation and even the world (Canada, Scotland, England, Germany) had filled the backyard to capacity.

That was when Rocky and JD decided it was time to expand their horizons, and fate stepped in. Ideal location.. luck and cashing in every chip they had brought their dreams to fruition...and on January 24th, 1999, they became the new owners of Rocky and JDs Tavern.  Rocky and JD continue the tradition of "partying in the yard" that started so many years ago at their home.  From the Tavern, they look forward to meeting and partying with new and old friends, serving up Ice Cold Beer & Wine, along with great food and Good company. The Motto at Rocky and JD's is, "There are no strangers here, only friends we haven't met yet!"
